This 2023 has been a rought year in terms of purguing and detoxing old baggage from our lives. Multiple planetarium movements, eclipses, retrogrades, and full moons had been facing us with what we were avoiding for a long time. The energy in the air has been dense, I'm not gonna lie, but it has been an opportunity to say goodbye to whatever has been the obstacle, the stone in the path.
If you, like me, ( and I'm betting you are :P ) have been taking advantage of the synchronized universal power to evolve and take new quantum leaps in your life, you know that the end of the year in the Christian calendar is just another opportunity to close all those cycles we have been diligently sweating on this present year. ( yes, 2023 I'm looking at you, what a ride )
Passing on the pages and starting a new journal of your life, requires a celebration and an intention, there isn't a better way to mark, than with a ceremony. ( at the end of the day ceremonies and rituals are made to enhance the power of a situation and decree for a new one )
Are you ready to close the book of this old cycle and start a new one? Here is a home closing ritual you can do to active new beginnings and close old cycles before 2023 ends, without the necessity to hire an outsider to give you the power you already have to close cycles in your life.
Let's start with the importance of setting an intention before doing the ceremony. Before you go on making this closing ceremony is important to have clarity of the very rooted reason you want to do one.
Doing things for the sake of doing something without clarity in your system, is gonna take away the power behind doing the ceremony, remember we are maneuvering energy, and it should be respected and have the proper awareness behind it.
Intentions aren't merely words you throw to the sky, intentions are energy you are catapulting from inside out into universal existence to create, look at it, as the seed you are plating to create. In this case, we want to close a cycle we are ready to pack and send far away from our lives.
Setting the intention from the heart and not the mind
Start by questioning yourself about why you want to do this ceremony. what do you want to close, and whether you are or not ready to let go of this from your life. Please be 100 % honest if you are ready to welcome something new and different in your life.
This is essential, and the only way you can be real about this is by questioning your commitment and consistency to do the proper inner work required to create a new foundation in your life. You aren't a passive participant in the universe, you are an active one, and this means you have to do your part.
Once you are heart clear about your intention, is time to place and send the intention out there. You can do this by writing the first phrase as it comes naturally to you in your journal, so you can read it aloud a couple of times without changing a letter or sound. Sit or stand, place your hands in your heart and after you can feel your breath and feel connected to it, you can repeat the intention 3 times.
Sing into it if you feel it, read slowly, and do it in a way that feels natural and pleasant to you, the most important aspect of this is how you feel about it, and the energy you are placing behind those words. You are the main source of this ceremony.
Once your intention is done, it is time to go on with the ceremony. ( the fun part !)
Sit and create an environment where you feel relaxed. You can utilize all kind of objects that helps to enhance the vibe of a ceremony if you like ( candles, music, tea, smells, flowers) anything that supports you in creating connection and peace to write the letter you are about to write.
Important notes:
Objects like those mentioned above. aren't a requirement, if you want to skip that part, feel free to do so, those objects are meant to help you, they aren't the reason why the ceremony will work or not. They are spiritual props, the success of this ceremony is based on your inner state and the inner work.
Writing the letter to the old
Write a letter to that aspect of yourself, that old identity that has sustained the old bagagge you want to close. Writing this letter is an intimate and personal practice, is like talking to a version of you, a younger one that you are ready to drop. Take your time, write this letter from the heart. May some tears and feelings come out, let those flow, and help you in the process you have embarked on. This is a positive sign, you are talking from the heart, you are releasing and this is what this ceremony is about.
Releasing on the flames what is ready to die
Fire is the element of transmutation, and it's the element that is gonna support the energy of the old cycle to be close. Create a safe space with a metal container where you can burn the paper, use a candle if you like, but make sure you can take your time to burn the paper, as while you do, you are invited to go back to your intention and repeat as long it takes, till the paper vanishes completely in physical form.
Take the ashes of the paper, place them inside a paper bag, take them to the garbage, and repeat for the last time your intention, while throwing away the bag. ( if you are wondering why this isn't so magical, it is a typical spiritual stereotype) let me remind you, that what is important is the act itself of throwing away what doesn't have a place anymore, not the mysticism that we are sold by spiritual trends and stereotypes.
Breath in the New
After finalizing the burning part, go back to the place where you were doing the letter and the burning part, and sit down, maybe even on your knees, close your eyes, and vow to yourself, for the commitment you have placed to your path. Be grateful for the energies, that have been placed in your favor, to close this chapter in your life.
Take some minutes to feel the emotions and the response of your body after doing this ritual. If you want to take notes of those in your journal, do it, they may serve you later.
It's important to remember that this ritual has created the energetical portal for you to close a cycle in your life, but if you are still holding onto pain, emotional baggage, beliefs, and physical habits it's important to do the proper healing work with each of them.
It doesn't matter how many rituals you do to let go and close, if you keep holding into baggage, you are gonna feel stuck in the situation till you release, heal, and create a new foundation, a new identity that sustains your new life.
